1). Tha Ton
Located near the Burmese boarder, Tha Ton is a staging post between the lowlands
and the mountains. A huge white Buddha image, visible from miles around faces
eastwards over the town and the countryside.

Doi Mae Salong -- This mountain and surrounding area, which has been mainly
settled by ethnic Chinese is set amid beautiful rolling scenery.

Sam Yekh Akha -- Is
a quaint Akha village, where upon entrance through the gate are small sculptures
of people, which are meant to warn spirits that only humans may enter the village.

Phua Dua -- This a Miean Hill Tribe village which sells various textiles and
handicrafts.

Doi Tung -- This impressive mountain is home to the Doi Tung Royal Villa, which
has beautiful surrounding gardens.
6).
Mae Sai -- is the northern most town in Thailand and separated from Burma by
a bridge. Here you will find one of the most active & interesting markets
in Thailand.

Sop Ruak -- This village, with it unique restaurants and shops, is a beehive
of activity for Thailand, Burma & Laos.
8).Chiang
Saen -- This ancient town is filled with temple ruines, teak trees and was once
the capital of a small kingdom.
9).
Wat Phra That Pha Ngao -- This is a 10th century temple which is nested elegantly
ona hill just south of Chiang Saen and offers excellent views of the surrounding
countryside.
10).
Chiang Khong -- is one of the gateways to Laos and which is home to Wat Luang,
a temple well worth seeing.
